and how it got developed into a performance 

most performance were done by reciting the painted poems in different languages

 Chinese, Italian, and English

some paintings not shown here were once painted with six layers ( six languages , each language one layer ) ( the other three languages are : Ojibwe, French, German )

the research does not end here

the theme on Chinese calligraphy and colour after 2017 continues

with the series of Carducci's poems, 

a parallel project: Hong Kong film and my child hood memories began in 2016 at Royal College of Art. Somewhat like a diary in dreams, this is seen as sketches in the mind, where I would be happy to use whenever it is necessary

( the reciting was casually done while I was filming my installation in my garden in the outskirts of Rome, Italy. It was not meant to be a performance. I inserted it here only to give the glimpse of the performance in its original language. Usually during a performance, guests would be asked to recite the other text hidden under the top painted Chinese poem. The beginning series were done with two layers, Italian underneath the Chinese Calligraphy. Then it got developed to three languages since the works were done at Villa Romana in Florence where German and Italian were the main languages used. Eventually they got further developed to six languages since I was In Canada teaching at the White Mountain Academy of Fine Arts where native arts and culture were encouraged- hence, the necessity of including Ojibwe, English and French. )
